Chicken schnitzel wrap, $8.80

THIS cheery little cafe does a great line in simple savoury dishes, in addition to an array of decadently sweet things. This no doubt accounts for the crowds around lunchtime, where Kew mums jostle for space at the counter with tradies on a break. The chicken schnitzel wrap (crumbed chicken cut into strips and bound in pita bread with lettuce and avocado) is a crowd pleaser. It's basic enough for those looking for no-frills fare, while also providing a tangy spice - sweet chilli sauce - to satisfy those seeking more zing.Place: Via Verona Cafe, 193 High Street, KewPhone: 9853 2657Open: Mon-Sat, 7.30am-6pm; Sun, 7.30am-5pmCards: MC V Eftpos
